What is alpine poppies?

Alpine poppies, also known as Papaver alpinum, are a type of perennial poppy that are native to the mountainous regions of Europe. They are known for their delicate, brightly colored flowers that bloom in the early summer months. The flowers, which come in shades of orange, yellow, pink, and white, sit atop long stems and have distinctive, crumpled petals. Alpine poppies prefer cool, well-drained soil and full sun to light shade. They are a popular choice for rock gardens, alpine troughs, and other small-scale plantings. Despite their delicate appearance, alpine poppies are quite hardy and can withstand cold temperatures and even light frosts.
